Resolving Ignition Cylinder Problems

• Gently wiggle the key to see if you are able to loosen up the key while it is still in the ignition. Gentle is the word that you should focus in on because if you wiggle to rough then it could break the key off inside the ignition.

Removing the key when the vehicle is in the OFF position:  

• Again, check to be sure that the key is in the correct position. If you are using an old key then it could have entered the ignition in the wrong position. If you are having this type of problem often then it might be necessary to have a new key made. 
• Loosen the key in the ignition by gently wiggling it back and forth while still in the ignition. The idea is to loosen it up enough for it to simply slide out. Just take a deep breath and relax before proceeding.
